Digital environment promotes the learning reform. Nonlinear science and complexity theory have a great influence on human’s thinking. The traditional linear ways of learning can’t keep the pace of times, nor meets the needs of learners either. In such circumstances, nonlinear learning emerges as required. As the important issue of learning sciences, the nonlinear learning gradually gets the learners’approval for the support of modern scientific technologies, taking learners as the core and respecting the non-linear characteristic of learner’s thinking.Learners have been required more in information society. The acquisition of complex knowledge and skills stands for the learners’core competitiveness. The inquiry learning has been come into its own by educators and learners all the time for the goal of obtaining advanced knowledge. As the typical model of inquiry learning, the WebQuest has extensive practical bases from the beginning up to now. However, the WebQuest has been inevitably revealed the shortage of its realization mode with the times. All considerations above, this paper will illustrates the design and realization of WebQuest in the new situation on the subject of the design and practice of WebQuest on the perspective of nonlinear studyBased on the research of online learning of students, literature research and summarizing concerns of the design of WebQuest by experts and scholars, this paper puts forward a design concept of co-construction and sharing, emphasizes the participation of learners and integrates the characteristics of nonlinear learning by analyzing the situation and needs of learners. With the instruction of nonlinear learning pace design, the platform will be designed for the practice of learners.36students are sampled as research objects from junior grade two in seventy-nine middle school in Wuhan. The design and practice of WebQuest on the perspective of nonlinear learning will be validated through the observation of the design and learning process of learners, collecting research data, performing effect analysis, and providing the basis for the deeper study through the feedback from the learners.
