With the rapid development of the economic and the enhanced of the people’s security awareness, video surveillance system has been widely used. Today, the traditional video surveillance system is gradually replaced by the digital network video surveillance system. Digital network video surveillance system based on image processing technology, embedded technology and network communication technology.The system has the characteristics of high performance, small size, easy installation, high stability and reliability.Combining with the project of intelligent wireless video monitoring system which the author participate in and basing on the theory of image sensor, image processing and embedded systems, the paper achieved the hardware design of the video surveillance system based on DSP. This platform has the function of video image acquisition, video signal processing, and video data transmission.The main contents of this paper as follows:1. The paper introduced the background, significance and source of the topic, described the history of video surveillance systems, analyzed and researched the key technologies of the design such as embedded technology, digital signal processor technology and image sensor technology. 2. According to the requirements of the system design principles and related technologies, the paper realized the overall system design, identified the core components of the video acquisition module and video processing module, and finally, completed the chip selection.3. According to the overall design of video acquisition module, the paper completed the detailed design of image acquisition, noise reduction, image processing, power module, the EEPROM and RS-232C interface by the CCD as the core in the video acquisition module.4. After conscientiously studying the DaVinci technology and TMS320DM6446processor structure and function, the paper designed the video decoding module, memory module, power module, Ethernet transmission, the RS-232C and other parts of the video processing module based on the DM6446processor.5. The paper introduced the knowledge about the signal integrity, designed the numbers and structure of PCB layers, elaborated the requirements of components layout and wiring, and finally, completed the PCB design of the entire system.
