The Softeware Design And Implement On Integrated Intelligent Camera Platform Based On Davinci DM6446

Video surveillance is widely used in our daily life. And it plays a significant role infields such as intelligent traffic, hydrological monitoring, banking supervision andindustrial control. With the development of new technology as well as actual demands,there are new requirements for surveillant system which, however, has been facing witharduous challenges such as more stringent size restrictions, wider monitor scope, and moreautonomous intelligent operations. Therefore, camera, as a core part of the videosurveillant system, has been supposed to be fully developed to meet the requirements.With the restrictions of existing cameras of video surveillance technology, weaccordingly designed a new intelligent camera based on Davinci DM6446. Gernerallyspeaking, by making use of DM6446integrated with ARM and DSP core, video captureand calculation process can be achieved in an embedded system with the miniaturizationof the surveillant equipment. To be more specific, ethernet transmission is realized bytaking advanteages of the network interface in DM6446controled by ARM core so thatwider distributions of terminals can be approached. Thanks to the remarkable computingpower of the DSP core, the time-consuming recognition algorithms can be ran locally inreal time with integration of the hardware, which is interpreted as the so-calledintelligence. With this issue, we focus on the software of the whole design, which includesfour parts in general: configuration and transplantation of the underlying OS(OperationSystem) Bootloader, cutting and using of Linux for controlling hardware devices andembedded software environment, design and transplantation of the specific recognitionalgorithm, design and implementation of top application software.The designed intelligent camera design based on Davinci DM6446not only realizesnetwork transmissions as well as integrations of recognition algorithms, but also has a greatflexibility in modification and redesign of hardware and software. For example as forhardware, resizing FLASH chips and regulating corresponding drivers depend on the needof local storage capabilities In addition, reusing IO depends on the need of external triggers.And as for software, transplanting encode algorithms to DSP core is in accordance withrequirements of the decode algorithms. Moreover, designing and transplanting recognition algorithm can be adjusted based on the actually demands. Therefore, the design can beused as a basic platform of subsequent development in which specific applications anddemands can be approached by making proper modifications..
