The landscape pattern is how the landscape mosaics of different size and shape are arranged inlandscape space. Its change will have an influence on the natural environment, social, economic andcultural systems in human space. In a certain scale of climate, the landscape pattern has an important effectlinked with the thermal environment. The surface temperature is one of the most important elements of regional climate andindicator of the balance in the surface energy. Its pattern and dynamic is the important measure on thequality of environmental and social development policy. Agricultural ecological system is dependent onnatural conditions strongly. The temperature is a key factor of agricultural environment and plants life. Theland surface temperature affects the natural landscape, farming system, grain production and biologicaldiversity, etc. With the development of agricultural production, the LST distribution in rural areas will alsobe significantly affected. However, the studies of LST mostly focus on urban areas. As for the countrysidethey pay little attention.Using remote sensing (RS) technology to retrieve LST becomes an important method to obtain awide range of continuous LST gradually because of its time synchronization as well as its convenience andquickness which can’t be surpassed by traditional methods.Taking Zhongmou and Gongyi as the study area, taking the remote sensing data of1988、2001and2007years as the main date resource, using geographic information system technology, This researchanalyzed the agricultural landscape pattern dynamic in typical area of the middle-lower reach of the YellowRiver. The land surface temperature is inverted by the mono-window algorithm, and agricultural landscapepattern effect linked with thermal environment is discussed. The results found that:(1) Under the natural process and human activities, the agricultural landscape pattern changeddramatically in the middle-lower reach of the Yellow River. Landscape pattern of ZhongMou County andGongyi city was known through remote sensing image interpretation. The agricultural landscape patternevolution showed some characteristics and differences. With the increasing economy, the area ofconstruction landscape had increased significantly. The forest landscape of ZhongMou County wasdamaged seriously until2001years. While the forest landscape foundation of Gongyi was very good andobtain the better protection. (2) Taking Landsat TM/ETM data, weather information and other ground field data as datasources, with the support of RS and GIS, LST is inverted by the mono-window algorithm. The inversionresults showed the area which had more water and vegetation coverage had lower temperature, while dryland and construction land had higher temperature. According to this research result, this method toinversion surface temperature inversion is feasible.(3) Thermal environment has a strong response to agriculture landscape pattern in typical areas ofthe middle-lower reach of the Yellow River. This study explored the landscape type of study area how toaffect the surface temperature.Agriculture landscape pattern effect linked with thermal environment wasanalyzed from vegetation coverage and waters landscape pattern index aspects. The results show thatthermal environment pattern was negatively correlated to vegetation coverage. The temperature of waterslandscape is lower and negatively related to the landscape connection of itself. Along with the distancefrom the waters landscape increasing, the land surface temperature had warmer trend obviously, especiallyin the range of90meters.This research shows that, compared with the previous research conclusion in the urban, agriculture landscape pattern had its unique and important influence on thermal environment in typical areaof the middle-lower reach of the Yellow River.
