Experimental teaching is not only an indispensable part of the entire highereducation system, but also an important branch of the students’ quality educationfor each of the engineering colleges. Traditional experimental methods have suchnegative factors as the lagging of laboratory equipment, large experimentallimitations and relatively low degree of openness, etc. Besides, the rapid updatesof laboratory equipment will also put a lot of pressure on education expenses. Allthese factors above restrict the quality and development of experimental teachingto a certain extent. With the popularization of network technology, the computer technology isdeveloping rapidly coupled with the emergence of virtual instrument technology. In this context, virtual experiment, an effective complement to the developmentof the traditional experimental method, has very broad spectrum of application inthe field of education, measurement, and even other research areas. Thus, virtualexperiment has become an important future development of experimentalteaching.Based on analysis of the history and current status of the existing virtuallaboratory at home and abroad, as well as the technologies used to accomplish avirtual experiment, this thesis makes a comprehensive study to analyze theconstruction of the virtual experiment system, including the basic theory of itsestablishment, the network environment, application classification, the specifictectonic model and technical methods and its development and applications. The main emphasis in our study focuses on the theoretical framework andmodeling methods of the virtual laboratory as well as a wide range of frequentlyused key technologies. Based upon the above, the following has beeninvestigated, including the discussion of feasible design virtual experimentalsystem combined with network technology, the design of software using virtualinstrument based on LabVIEW, exploration of simulation and virtual experimental system, using the B/S architecture, SQL Server database system, and the application of DataSocket technology, maintained or transmitted of theexperimental data. By employing the Web Service technology provided by theLabVIEW, various existing resources on the server would be available byexchange of information between various platforms via http. Adobe Captivatetool to accomplish the release of the visualization operations tutorial intended tointroduce the TTS system of the voice for the experiment shows, to providebetter help to the user.On-line publishment can be achieved by using virtual laboratory built onvirtual instrument technology and network technology. Users can access thevirtual laboratory anytime and anywhere only by using computers and networks. It implements software reuse and has scalability and good interactivity. It alsoallows users to experiment in a virtual scene and to obtain satisfactoryexperimental results. As an innovative experimental method, virtual experimentcan be applied more widely and flexibly as compared with traditional experimentmethods. Although it still can not completely replace the traditional experimentalmethod so far, it plays a very important role in the innovation and developmentof experimental methods. It is an effective technical means of promoting thequality of experimental teaching.
