Experiment plays an important role in engineering education. At present, there are obstacles in carrying out lab courses, such as the lack of specialized experimental instruments, low utilization of resources in time and space etc. With the rapid development of virtual instrument, network technology, the present problems could be partly overcome by remote lab system.This paper presents the design and prototype of a Remote Analog Electronic Circuit Lab System. The lab system is based on B/S structure. The system includes local and remote sites. On local site, the operator access into the lab website with his own computer, and could do the circuit designing and simulation. On the remote site, simulated circuit could be represented and worked, and the site image as well as the actual parameters could be feedback to the operator over the network.Six typical analog electronic circuit experiments are conducted with simulation environment. LabVIEW Multisim Connectivity Toolkit is used to control and automate the Multisim simulation. The Co-simulation system is constructed by Producer/Consumer structure. A list of simulation nodes and components are displayed on LabVIEW front panel. Automatic experiment report generation function is designed by Report Generation Toolkit to record the data automatically. The system is published through the web publishing technology so that the user can implement the experiment by browser.The experiment circuit board includes the analog electronic experimental circuit and control circuit.The core of the board is STM32 microcontroller. The following elements are included in experiment circuit board:adjustment of controlled signal, switching of analog electronic experiment circuits, modification values of key components. Meanwhile, the modular access function is designed to extend different modules. Experimenter can observe the result in a video surveillance system which is developed by USB camera. Hardware practicality lab system needs to be published.Furthermore, a lab booking management system is designed by synthesizing the Web Technology and MySQL database. The HTML page generated by virtual simulation and practicality experiments is embedded into the lab management system. After registering, users can book the experiment and implement the experiment within the prescribed time.The online experiment test showed that the remote lab system proposed in this paper is stable in operation with strong practicability and expandability. This experiment mode has the advantages of simulation experiment and practicality experiment in traditional remote lab system. Comparing the results of virtual and actual experiments, students can understand theoretical knowledge better.
