Barcode technology has provided tremendous support to the commercial, logistics. While applications in the manufacturing sector is not particularly widespread, and there aremany reasons, such as enterprises’ industry sector, the company’s existing systems, cognitive, and so on. The enterprise involved in this project is a new hot-swappable enterprise and a U.S.listed company. After implementing BAAN ERP system in2007, the company has achievedgood results, based on this case, the companies hope to further enhance the efficiency, andaccuracy. So they set up this project.Barcode technology have been developed kinds of barcode for a long time and beensuitable for different industry’s demand. The development of barcode technology appearednineteen forties first, and applied on supermarket system. In home the development ofbarcode technology have been more and more popularize in last century80’s.There are threestages for the development of barcode technology. The first is automatic clearing stage; thesecond is applied for inner enterprise management; the third stage is applied in e-commerceand all over the SCM. In contrast to developed country, the application of barcode technologyis still in second stage or in third stage which is wide difference. The thesis is still in secondstage which applied inner enterprise management. The thesis mainly applied purchase receipt, production issue and returning working hours of ERP system. The applications use barcodetechnology which displays the importance for industry enterprise. The application of barcodetechnology is convenient to production track and information feedback. Now more and moreenterprise use technology to seamless integration of ERP, so the application can decrease themaintain cost and increase profit for enterprise. At last it meets the inner managementdemand. As discrete single production enterprise, the scope of this project involves can bereferenced well. At the beginning, we have thought many functions which rely entirely on thebar code system, but after our further analysis, we found this project will be an increasingeffective, reducing the failure rate’s project. From this point of view, it is worth to learn forother enterprises, a single system cannot solve all the problems, so we need to know thesystem very well. During the system developing, we made a detailed analysis for the ERPsystem with bar code system interface, found ERP system is the core system of the enterprises,Application system is the world’s leading Infor’s BAAN, and illustrates the applied language in this development process. The system is divided into three modules, running under.Net, ERP’s vendor provide thecompiled WebService interface, and the client is running in WINCE. Deal with this, thesystem level is clear, modules is independent, that can converge with the existing database ofthe ERP system, so that the bar code system and the ERP system can be run independently, with the ability to run multiple users simultaneously, the relevant report can continue to run inthe original ERP system. The entire project process, the biggest challenge is the MOTO3090built-in bar codeprocess with the ERP system connectivity, and ultimately we have successfully overcome thisproblem which has been stated in the last chapter. This project is a good example to verify thebar code system can be well integrated with the ERP system, and promote each other toachieve greater efficiency, so it has practical significance.
