The plug-in GIS is an important research direction to enhance the reusability ofthe GIS software code. The plug-in GIS has better Integration,update and expandcompared with the tranditional way of the GIS software development.Theprogrammer using plug-in technology for the secondary development of GIS softwarecan quickly and efficiently build a GIS system according to user needs.In thispaper,author making the plug-in technology and the management of networkinformation together verify the feasibility of plug-in technology in the direction ofnetwork information system.The paper summarizes the development status and the present problems of theexisting secondary development ways of GIS software, based on the actual needs ofthe pipe network system to bring up a way to build pipe network information systemby using plug-in technology.Information system of integrated pipe network based onplug-in GIS can be divided into two parts:one is framework platform,the other is pipenetwork plug-in.The framework platform is in charge of managing systemcontrols,and the pipe network plug-in is charge of finishing the function of integratedpipe network.The paper can be divided into six chapters totally, the following is thebrief introductionof each chapters:Chapter Ⅰ Introduction.It’s mainly to introduce the research background of thispaper,elaborate the research purpose and significance of this paper,summarize theresearch progress and present problems of plug-in GIS by domestic and foreignreferences,in the end,to bring up the main study content of this paper.Chapter Ⅱ Key Technologies.It’s mainly to introduce the plug-intechnology,.NET platform and ArcEngine technology.Chapter Ⅲ System Design.It’s mainly to introduce system designprinciple,system design target,database design and system design.Chapter Ⅳ Framework Platform Development.It’s mainly to introduce using C#program language to develop plug-in contract,plug-in container,plug-in engine andhost program under the.NET platform.Chapter Ⅴ Pipe Network Plug-in Development.It’s mainly to introduce thedevelopment of pipe network plug-in.Pipe network plug-in implements pipe networkfunction such as data search,spatial analysis,pipe network design and etc.Chapter Ⅵ Summary and Outlook.It’s mainly to summarize the main researchresults of this paper and make some discussion for the further work.The main research results of this paper is to develop frameworkplatform,baseclass and pipe network plug-in by using plug-in technology andArcEngine’s secondary development kit.The development of frameworkplatform,baseclass and pipe network plug-in of this paper can not only make thedevelopment of information system of pipe network quickly,but also provide a goodway to programmer to build other application softwares in other directions.
