Research On The Network Information Organization Based On FRBR

Because of its dynamic disorder, changing easily, copying easily and complex content, network information has been being unable to be organized effectively. There are so many information organization methods as metadata, knowledge method, relation method and so on, whose implementation purpose and scope are different, but generally which have the following weaknesses:lack of ordering method and morphological characteristics to different entity relationship, and especially lack of effective depth ordering model for information entities in different levels. If the relationship between morphological characteristics and information entities are not at first organized and ordered, it will increase the information standardization indirectly.IFLA made a new bibliography model--Functional Requirements of Bibliographic Records(Referred to as FRBR) in1998,which divides the key objects that the bibliographic data users care about into different entities to conduct a detailed analysis, and adopts entity-relationship model (E-R model) to construct a conceptual framework to explore the structure and relationship of bibliographic records. FRBR can provide a complete thinking framework for network information’s description and location.Using the literature material, case analysis, mathematical statistics and other methods, E-R model’s new concept and the influence on network information organization are analyzed at first. Under the guidance of organizational principle and professional principle, a reasonable and effective network information organization system is built from the content level, the normative level, the technology level and the evaluation level, and the network information organization technology and method based on FRBR are introduced. Then, the paper discusses how to use FRBR to descript and locate text type information, music information, video information, map information and so on. Finally, combined with the actual cases and contrasted with other information organization methods, the application of FRBR in network information organization practice is evaluated, the advantage of network information organization based on FRBR is summed up, and the development of FRBR application in network information organization and research is prospected.
