With the telecom operator’s Business Operation Support System (BOSS) completing the construction of a 2-level centralized system, the business support capacity has been greatly improved. The BOSS system provides good support to network construction and business development, thus make itself become one of the core productivities of the company. Since all business-critical systems and data are concentrated in the same place, in the event of an accident, the company’s business and service will be totally unavailable, resulting in incalculable negative impact to the enterprise’s business reputation and corporate image, and a a huge direct and indirect losses. How to choose and carry out a suitable disaster recovery (DR) program for BOSS, and how to ensure the business continuity when the catastrophic event occurs is the the common problem which telecom operators face.Taking the ultra-scale BOSS of a China Mobile province as an example, this thesis starts from the risk analysis, and introduces the design process of disaster recovery system step by step. In order to keep up with the production system’s development, ensure the effectiveness of DR system, and improve the investment utilization, how to optimize the DR system after completion is also introduced with analysis and actual measures. At last, an application prospect analysis based on some major new technologies in the DR system construction is presented because of the rapid development of IT technology.
