The Application Of Oracle Dataguard Technology In Mobile Disaster Recovery And Backup System

Business & Operation Support System, i.e. BOSS, is a system that supports the operation of China Mobile based on Computer Network and related application technology. BOSS includes these modules: tariff, settlement, business reception, customer service, system administration, and statistics. BOSS also communicates information with outer system.As a continuous business operation system, the importance of BOSS is well-known. How to guarantee the continuous business operation and the reliable data has become a paramount subject. The ongoing project of recovery and backup of BOSS is the important work for the protection of operation data and continuous operation. As one of the first provinces that start the project of BOSS recovery and backup, Shandong Mobile applies ORACLE'S "Standby" database technology to protect the credit and billing system based on database copy.This thesis introduces the "Standby" database technology of ORACLE and the utilization of "Standby" database technology in the Shandong Mobile recovery and backup system. In this system the "Standby" technology is employed to carry out the recovery function of the credit system, one of the critical business systems of BOSS. The study explores the feasibility of using Standby database to substitute Primary database in data backup and recovery. At the end of the thesis, we propose the development direction of Shandong Mobile's BOSS recovery and backup in relation to the specifications, requirements and experiences of data recovery and backup in China Mobile.
