Buses’ Auto-announce System Based On GPS

With China’s rapid economic growth, urban transport has also been a rapid development, public transport development in the urban transport played a significant role. However, with the explosive growth of urban population and the rapid increase of motor vehicles, it also has brought very serious urban traffic problems, traffic congestion phenomenon has become very commonplace, noise and exhaust pollution has seriously affected people’s daily lives. Urban transport problem has been brought huge losses to the national economy and has seriously hampered the cities’ development process, it is imperative to promote the urban traffic information and intelligent.In this paper, a more applicable auto-announce system is designed and implemented in order to solve the false announcement problems occurred in current cities’bus announcement system. The paper makes a brief introduction of the GPS system and the ARM embedded technologies. And elaborates the system’s hardware devices and the design of software, on this basis, gives the system’s implementation process. Finally, this paper makes a field test, gets the conclusion and looks to the future research.The system uses ATMEL’s AT91SAM9260 as the microprocessor chip, via GPS receiver receives real-time satellite navigation information which can be used to calculate the longitude, latitude, speed, etc. Then identifies the entry and exit state of bus station through the recognition algorithm, gives the multimedia tips for passengers by vehicle graphic LCD display, LED inside buses and car horn.The system has a good ability to identify the bus stations even in the special line, provides passengers with timely voice prompts and LED Information, and creates a good environment and a comfortable traveling experience. While the system has a high precision and accuracy, eliminates the impact from drivers, reduces the burden on the driver’s operation, improves public transport information and intelligence.
