With the rapid development of electronic countermeasure and other newtechnologies, the traditional active detection method has faced a series of newchallenges; the low survival ability becomes its main defect. The passive detectiontechnology has a superiority of survival ability because it doesn’t emit anyelectromagnetic waves. Distributed passive detection information fusion system is atechnology which uses system technique and information fusion technology toachieve network detection based on the passive reconnaissance technique, it helps toimprove the ability of identifying and tracking the electromagnetic radiation targets.This issue focuses on the network communication part of the distributed passivedetection information fusion system; it provides a flexible and intelligent networkcommunication platform which could be allocated in various geographicenvironments arbitrarily. This network communication platform emphasizes on theflexibility of constructing network in different environments and making full use ofexisting network resources. This paper details the realization of the networkcommunication platform and it is mainly consisted by four parts as follow:First of all, based on the fundamental needs to the system, the structure of thenetwork communication platform is analyzed. A applicable design proposal isplanned.Secondly, the hardware of the communication terminal which is the foundationof the network platform is analyzed concretely, including core microprocessor unit,power supply unit, GPRS, CDMA and Ethernet units which support three differentkinds of networks. For using in wild areas which is not covered by power grid, a solarpower system is set up to solve the problem.Third, RTOS is brought in to help to develop the software which directlysupports the sending and receiving functions in different kinds of networks. Thesetting model and intelligent selection model are also brought into the software andfinally formed the firmware which is operating inside the terminal. In addition a PCbased software is developed which is used to help the user to configure the terminal, anetwork service software is developed to exchange data between sending terminal andreceiving terminal. The principle of the intelligent selection function is analyzed during the design process of this network service software.Finally, this paper makes a concrete introduction to the using process on how tomake the communication terminal work as we want. A simulation result is shown thatthe distributed passive detection information fusion system has achieved the designgoal.
