The Research Of Web-Based And Distributed Network Management

With the fast development of technology of network and optical fiber communication, particularly, the dense wavelength division multiplexing fiber communication system commercialized in recent years, the scope of network system grows more and more great and complex. So the maintenance of network management is required of high quality. Traditional maintenance systems are centralized network management systems for the most part. And the reliability, flexibility and handling capacity are so limited that they can not keep up with the development of network technology.Traditional network management system is developed nearly based on independent application program so the network management is run only on some computers installed this application program. With the popularization of network technology, linking computers to network becomes the lowest requirement. Therefore, it is a very practical significance if the management of network is executed by browsers. This set a basis for realizing network management wherever and whenever.A frame of Web-based distributed network management is proposed in this paper. Not only general protocol-SNMP but also communication bottom protocols-OSPF and IS-IS applied in data acquisition flourish greatly the means of system data acquisition and improve system reactive ability. It is the technology of Applet and Servlet that realizes uniting Web technology with network management technology and solves secure communication between client port and server port by using Http tunnel technology. And the system modules are analyzed and designed successfully so the secure communication among all module is solved by using JMS technology. Furthermore, graphic processing toolkit of Graph Editor Toolkit for Java is united with network topological management so that the multi- selection of topological show is achieved.
