The rapid development of economy, which has stimulated and promoted the prosperity of the downstream industry chain, has enhanced the development of some neglected industries. Those neglected industries have close connection with other industries, while they may not belong to the same chain as others. What we refer to is the professional book distribution.As we know, XINHUA Book Store has always been regarded as the main distribution channel after the establishment of PRC. However, China’s booming economy has triggered off demands for professional books. Thus, various distribution places emerged from every industry launched by ministries. When it comes to the 1990s, the demand for professional knowledge and documents has been unprecedentedly growing. Unfortunately, some problems existing in two professional distribution channels remain unsolved due to the following factors: uniform variety, slow update, indifferent service and narrow service range, etc. accordingly, private-owned professional book distribution company-Sichuan Sida Book Distribution Company was set up.Technology book distribution is a sub-industry of book industry. It has its unique features and strengths, while weakness of the private book distribution companies is still obvious. Under this circumstance, Sichuan Sida Book Distribution Company was founded.It takes 15.years for Sida Book Distribution Company to develop itself into a medium size corporation. But it is getting slowly. It may seems urgent that it take actions to integrate resources inside and outside the company with the use of modern management techniques; to prevent and eliminate the existing problems so as to leverage the strength; to enlarge the market share; and finally to realize the company strategy--making that company the largest professional book company in the first three years and the top private-owned company after five years.This essay is intends to discuss the macroscopic policy background, industry features and completion encountered by Sida Company, and analyze the inner and outer environment and present strategies of the company with the tools of strategic analysis--PEST ANALYSIS, EFE and IFE ANALYSIS, Boston Consulting Group Growth-Share Matrix, SWOT ANALYSIS,etc. Through the combination of company’s development strategy theory and the latest Strategic Management Theory, the author evaluates the present strategies in the company and makes relevant suggestions in the aspect of choosing and implementing the development strategy. Specific studies are carried out on the implementation of the strategy.
