Ancient Chinese architecture, especially architecture in the Ming and Qing issimple and gorgeous in architectural shape but very complex in structure. A singlebuilding, often by the thousands of wood components, usually transfered with tenonjoint; In addition to its roof curves is mostly parabolic, and often has a variety ofzoomorphic ornaments. All those make complex from drawing the ancient architecturedrawings to reconstructing the3D model. However, the ancient architecture in the Mingand Qing has apparent characteristics in the shape and modulus. Not only for the size ofthe wide but also for the size of the component, there is a certain formats and rules.Because of those formats and rules, the parameterization of the ancient architecturecomponents become possible, which can take advantage of the ancient architecture ofthe parametric component library to achieve the accurate reconstruction ofthree-dimensional model of the ancient architecture, to achieve a digital archive ofancient architecture, and to provide technical support for the construction and recoveryof ancient architecture.Depending on the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education Project(11JK0944)"parameterized3D information component library of ancient architecturebased BIM technology" and the Laboratory of Virtual Reality Engineering ResearchCenter of the Ministry of Education project (MEOBNUEVRA200902), for formal andmodulus of the characteristics of ancient architecture components, this paper studiesthe composition of the ancient architecture int the Ming and Qing and their features andassembly rules. And achieve the establishment of a parameterized3D component libraryof ancient architecture based on ObjectARX technology. Research results are as follows:1. Analyze the characteristics of the ancient architecture, study the feasibility of theparameterization of the ancient building elements and summary the composition of theancient architecture in the Ming and Qing.2. Based on the study of ancient architecture constitute in the Ming and Qing,complete the overall design of the component library, determine the functionalobjectives of the component library, and design the frame structure and hierarchy of thecomponent library.3. Focus on characteristics and assembly rules of pedestal, Dougong, Yan Zhu, JieJi and hipped timber frame components, study their parameter settings, designcomponent model algorithms, write program code in VC++programming environmentbased on ObjectARX, and then combine with the MFC interface programmingtechniques to design component corresponding parametric interface.4.Realize to manage and call component library with menu in AutoCAD interface.
