The laser engraving technology is a hot spots in recent years which is has beenwidely applied in the fields like engraving, cutting, marking as well as welding . In thispaper, the stepper motor servo control of laser engraving system is studied in detail. A newtype of stepper motor servo control algorithm is designed on the basic of previous theory,improving the movement control of laser engraving system. The main content is asfollows.First, the working principle, applications and development on the laser engravingtechnology are briefly introduced. Some control algorithms on stepping motor arediscussed in detail such as PID theory. The adaptive fuzzy PID control algorithm is alsointroduced which sets the PID control parameters immediately.Second, the control parameters of PID controller are set immediately using fuzzycontrol theory. A PID control model is designed on the basic of adaptive fuzzy control. Wesimulate and compare the acceleration, deceleration control signal and the externalenvironment jamming signal through adaptive fuzzy PID controller and PID controller inlaser engraving system.Third, the hardware circuit of laser engraving system is designed. Using DSP as thecentral controller, photoelectric encoder as the speed feedback, a stepper motor servocontrol system is designed based on adaptive fuzzy PID controller. Moreover, a networkfor multi-machines is also given by Zigbee which has the character of multi-nodescommunication.Finally, the image processing software is designed based on OTSU algorithm by C++language, which realizes the binary and multilevel processing on image. And a newcontrol algorithm for image engraving is proposed which is based on interpolation controltheory. In addition, the image engraving is realized based on adaptive fuzzy PID control.
