Along with continuous expansion in medical market of Transdermal Therapeutic Systerms, in order to ensure product quality and improve product production efficiency, it has been paid more and more attentions by domestic and abroad medical research institutions and pharmaceutical companies to manufacture a set of industrialized, automatized and intelligentized product facility for shaping. With the development of computer technology and microelectronics technology, FPGA has gained a wide application with its powerful functional characteristics and advantages of development. This paper proposes a design scheme of quality detection system for cataplasm’s coating which is based on FPGA.The quality detecting system for cataplasm’s coating based on FPGA, make use of the Altera’s DE2 development tools as a hardware development platform to carry out the system’s functional circuit design and implementation depending on the series of Cyclone II EP2C35 FFGA. System hardware consists of collection of video images, video decoder ADV7181B, external storage SDRAM and design part based on FPGA. Functions of modules and characteristics of devices are introduced in paper. Design part based on FPGA is the key point of this paper, especially the quality detecting module. In addition, configuration module for video decoder ADV7181B, data transform module and SDRAM controller module are elaborated. In the quality detection module, fuzzy algorithm is uesd to recognize and classify every pixel value for pattern recognition, recording the number and doing statistic analysis about the distribution of unqualified pixels to judge whether quality problems arise during cataplasm’s coating process, and then output signals of detecting results.In the end, every hardware components are integrated into a system, which is downloaded into DE2 to debug and test on-line to verify the correctness of the model features and system viability. The design system posesses a property of portability and scalability due to adopting Quartus II 9.0 as soft development environment and achieving various functionalmodules with Verilog HDL.
