Mixed-model assembly line is a kind of order-oriented production line. With acertain degree of production flexibility, it can respond quickly to market demand ofproduct diversification. However, during actual production process, mixed-modelassembly line encounters with problems such as varieties of orders, difficulties inmanagement and decision-making, bad implementation of production plan, longproduction cycle, a great number of artificial operational mistakes, serious bottleneckphenomenon of equipments etc., which lead to low efficiency in terms of the entireproduction process and the operation of production equipments. Thus, the productionprocess of enterprises is seriously affected. Through combining relevant technologies andstudying results of manufacturing informatization with those of networked manufacturing,this thesis studies the information support system of mixed-model assembly line based onembedded terminals, which aims to solve problems of mixed-assembly line, enhancesproduction efficiency, and strengthens market competitiveness of enterprises.Firstly, this thesis introduces the generation of mixed-model assembly line, thecharacteristics of the production process and the problems, demonstrates the necessity forthe implementation of the information support system of mixed-model assembly line, andanalyzes the demand for the information support system of mixed-model assembly line.Then this thesis presents the system architecture with system support layer, componentlayer, service layer, business layer, presentation layer, and application layer. The functionsand technologies of the system are also studied and elaborated.Secondly, this thesis studies the key technologies in the information support system,including the design and implementation of the embedded terminal, informationcollection and communication, and system integration. This thesis selects the informationsupport system adopting the embedded terminal with information collection sensor, andimplements the hardware and software platforms of the embedded terminal. Besides, thisthesis defines and implements communication means and protocols of the informationsupport system, while optimizing the information communication and considering itsreliability. What’s more, on the system integration technology, this thesis applies SOA andWeb technologies to studying and implementing the information integration systemwithin enterprises.Finally, this thesis presents specific application cases of the information support system for mixed-model assembly line, which achieves sound application effects.
