While the time is turning into21stcentury, the tide of globalization spreads all over theworld. With the popularization of science and information technology, mediums’development tends to be increasingly diversified, which impoverishes the spacing betweencountries, a country and its citizens, social organizations. The importance of a nationalcomprehensive strength and international status begin to turn up; one of the main signs isthat national image is now drawing more attention in every country. The national imagerepresents an invisible asset of a country, and a communicative and cooperative foundationbetween one country and the other; it is therefore quite important to research the nationalimage strategically.‘To win, media; to fall, still media’ is a common view that explains how a socialenvironment saw media in the past. As a result of a rapid information boost, the media, which is a critical trans-missive tool, channel and a communicative cause, is playing amore influential role in building up and improving the national image. It is because themedia has distinctive functions such as “modelling environment” and “setting process”, thenational image becomes quite possible to be created and optimized. It is concluded thatmass media is committed to linking home and abroad, and exerting tremendous andsignificant impact over transmitting and creating the national image. This essay, on the basis of former scholars’ researches and focusing views on massmedia, academically offers a supplementary definition of ‘national image’ in order to findthe essential one of its four inner elements. Subsequently, through the visible analysis ofmass media, the essay treats media as a way of international transmitting and draws aconclusion that interactions with the presence of mass media between countries are, in fact, transmits of effective information and then attempts to bring forward a trans-missivepattern in which mass media constitutes the national image so as to obtain thetrans-missive strategies that mass media uses to create and transmit the national image. Inthe end, the essay brings the patterns and conclusions that it has already gained since thebeginning into practice of international transmitting of China’s media to figure outinternational trans-missive strategies of China’s media, which are as follows:First, media should enrich the reports about China’s six major developments in orderto set up indirect images from different angles.Second, China’s media should cooperate with the government on diplomaticoccasions. Not only a country but also media should get involved in foreign affairs to buildthe bridge to export our national image.Third, media should be good at making use of global incidents to strengtheninformation marketing and advertising excellent Chinese culture. At last, while media is reinforcing its trans-missive capability, it ought to obeyrelevant state’s principles, that is to say, media needs to analyze the target to be transmitted, and take appropriate measures to achieve the trans-missive goals as expected.
