The Display and Control System, an important subsystem of Avionics Systems, isresponsible for displaying and controlling the data information which comes from otherelectronic devices of the aircraft through the data bus. And it also plays an importantrole in enhancing the operational capability of the pilot and reducing his or herworkload. In addition, the display and control system is the key to achieving theintegration, digitalization and intelligence of avionics system. Therefore, it is necessaryto promote the development and research of the display and control System. However,because the display and control system is characterized by the large quantity ofinformation, the quick update of data, the complexity of logical control and instantaneity,its research is labor-consuming, resources-consuming and time-consuming. Thesimulator of display and control System which is developed by software can simulate allthe functions of the cockpit display and control system. It can display information onthe screen. The replacement of aviation instruments by the screen is portable and moreconvenient. The simulator system not only can be used in debugging of AvionicsSystems, but also can be used as the display and control system of Flight Simulator.Besides, the system can be used as a teaching facility for students who need to know theknowledge about the display and control system of modern aircraft.With a certain type of aircraft as a template, organizes and studies the displaysymbols of the aircraft, the meaning of information and data sources, and then developsa series of aircraft display interfaces. These display interfaces which include Primaryflight display(PFD)、Navigation display(ND) and Engine indication and crew alertsystem(EICAS) are developed by Virtual Application Prototyping system (VAPS). Eachdisplay interface corresponds to flight process such as taking off, climbing and landingalso corresponds to information update which is caused by buttons. The Innovation ofthis subject lies in customizing the data communication protocol through studying thesignificance of the display interface and display control logic. Custom communicationprotocol increases the flexibility of the display information control, reduces thedifficulty of the logic control of display, and improves development efficiency. Thesubject achieved the data interaction between the display and control system and other subsystems of Avionics Systems through the named pipe. When receiving the messagewhich is send by external data source, the simulator of display and control firstlyanalyzes the pipe message in accordance with the custom communication protocol, andthen controls the specified display interface according to the parsed data contents. At thesame time, it decides whether to send data to the external data source. If necessary, itwill send appropriate information to the external data source through the named pipe.Testing with the extern data source, we found when the simulator of display andcontrol system receiving data information, it can update data and information on thescreen timely and correctly; Also, the system can set the attribute of information symbolcorrectly; The system can simulate all control functions of the real system timely.
