A Research On Resources Integration Of Institutional Caring In Towns From Welfare Pluralism Perspective

As an important aspect of the service for the old, institutional caring for the old gets more and more attention. Although it has got great developments in recent years, it still cannot meet the needs of the old in institutions. Besides, inappropriate use of resources contradicts the growing institutional caring demand.This research stands on the perspective of Welfare Pluralism and selects S Town, a small town in the northern Jiangsu Province as the survey object; finds that the old not only have the general demand, but also have the individual demand because of their different body condition. It tries to know the supply status of the institutional caring service for the old in this town and finds that the only a small part of the institutional old are satisfied with the present service. Also it analyzes problems existed in institutional caring and the reasons for these problems. It searches the current existing resources which can be used for institutional service in S Town and explores the effective way to integrate resources and clears the functional orientation for each supply subjects in the process of resources integration in order to meet the needs of the old in towns and improve their quality of life.
