Nowadays, with the promotion of the position of geography, it is important tocultivate geographical learning ability in order to make students learn something useful intheir whole life during the stage of basic education. However, many students are faced withmany geographical learning disorders, thus making the development of learning ability andliteracy stunted. Therefore, it is significant to identify the geographical learning disabilitiesand analyze the reasons for them. Then some specific improving measures will be presents.A case study on the most authoritative version, full-time regular senior high schoolPEP required1, is made to analyze the geographical learning disabilities and offer someproposals. In this article, the high school students of Jilin provincial experimental school istaken as research object. The theories of psychology, education and geographical teachingas well as teaching practices are applied to do some research on geographical learningdisabilities with the use of literature method, questionnaire survey, interviews and ratingscale method. Based on the test results of learning disabilities in the process of studyinggeography, this article is made to find and summarizes the reason for learning disabilities.The geographical learning disabilities can be divided into three aspects, that is, cognitivedisorder, thought disorders and mental disorder. Originally, it can be induced into students,teachers and parents. Finally, some practicable improvement strategy can be put up fromstudents, teachers and parents based on the consideration of objective law.This thesis on geographical learning disabilities is made to provide practical basis forthe study of learning disabilities in psychology and pedagogy as well as geographycompulsory1subject teaching. In practical level, this thesis, based on empiricalinvestigation, will help teachers carry out rational and pointed teaching activities duringthe daily English teaching. Based on this study, teachers will treat learning disabilitiesmore scientifically to eliminate learning disabilities, thus making the teaching effectimprove. Meanwhile, this thesis will make students realize the learning disabilities duringthe study of geography compulsory1. Then it will help students choose the right methodsto prevent themselves from learning disabilities. It will help students tap their ownpotential to improve their own quality eventually.
