With the economy growing, we are faced with social problems have becomingprominent. The deepening of social problems not only caused distress to individuals, alsoincreased social instability. As a professional discipline to assist person, social work makeup an important role in the field of social management. At present, social policy and socialenvironment are also promoting the social work to be well developed. While, we are alsofacing many problems including how to improve the social worker’s professional identity.It is a very notable problem.Through the research of literature on professional identity, assume the professionalidentity of social workers in five-dimensional, including: professional ethics, professionalwill, professional cognition, professional environment, professional expectance. Accordingthe suppose, compile the "social workers’ professional identity questionnaire". Contraposethe structure and content of the questionnaire, the experts and scholars of the field on socialwork and statistics give some advice and make modification. Empirical research on theprofessional identity of professional social workers and prospactive professional socialworkers, recover and process the data. Use SPSS17.0software to make the exploratoryfactor analysis, and ultimately retain the21questions. Collected five public factor, thedimensions of the professional identity of social workers was amended:①professionalwill: social workers’ occupational commitment and turnover intention, etc.②professionalcognition: social workers’ professional status of social work positioning and theprofessional awareness and understanding on this job, etc.③professional environment:the social workers’ feelings of the community for its evaluation, etc.④professionalethics: following the social work code of ethics and professional conduct, etc.⑤professional environment: the social workers’ feelings of the organizations. Testing thereliability and validity of the questionnaire, achieve the acceptable results.Describe and analyze the characteristics of the professional identity of social workersin different demographic and histological variables. In order to enhance the professionalidentity of social workers, put forward the suggestions from three levels: individuals,families and organizations, social systems.
