As the knowledge economy era is coming, organizations are facing increasing challenges. First, with the rapid development of new high technology, the knowledge and other intangible assets are becoming predominant in science and technology development and economic growth, but also making the knowledge management necessary and urgent in organization management; Second, innovations of information technology make it more convenient and faster for knowledge storage, dissemination and sharing, while facing of the huge amount of information, it also needs to reinforce the management of knowledge; Third, while the globalization is intensified, the increasingly competitions between organizations become acute. Many organizations have learned that relying on only land, capital, labor, and other physical capital can not make them invincible in the fierce market competitions. They know that the only way to improve their core competitiveness is to keep learning new knowledge, technology and philosophy, and establish a learning organization to make the knowledge flexible and effective to use and be more innovated. As part of the social organization, colleges and universities are also facing those challenges. Research and innovation ability has become an important measure and indicator of the core competitiveness of colleges and universities. It’s self-evident that the scientific research teams are the backbone of university research and innovation. As the knowledge-intensive team, to a large extent, the performance of scientific research teams is affected by knowledge sharing. However, in practice, whether the knowledge sharing will be smooth or not is affected by many factors. Only after learning and mastering how those factors affect the knowledge sharing, the knowledge management system and philosophy can be improved, so that the ability knowledge innovation of university scientific research teams can be effectively enhanced. There have been few studies on the factors which affect the sharing of knowledge among the scientific research teams in the universities thus far. Upon reviewing available literature, this paper puts forward a model of knowledge sharing dynamics within the university research teams from an intra-team individual relationship standpoint. In this model, the influences of individual pay expectation, altruism, mutual trust, ability of the individuals to internalize and express knowledge, the expressiveness of the knowledge, team atmosphere, and team communication platform on the knowledge sharing are hypothesized. Each of these factors is further analyzed using survey questionnaires. This paper focuses on the influencing factors of the knowledge sharing among university research teams, and the extent to which these factors influence knowledge sharing. SPSS16.0are used in this study for reliability and validity test, factor and regression analyses. The results show that the top seven dimensions to affect the knowledge sharing among university research teams are team atmosphere, individual pay expectation, ability to internalize and express knowledge, mutual trust between team members, altruism, team communication platform, and the expressiveness of the knowledge. Finally, the strategies to improve the knowledge sharing efficiency are suggested from the following three aspects: improving the team culture atmosphere, establishing incentive systems, and building learning-oriented teams. This paper comprises six chapters. The first chapter is a brief introduction to the background and significance of knowledge sharing. The second chapter reviews previous studies on knowledge sharing. The third chapter discusses the five modes of knowledge sharing, and establishes the knowledge sharing dynamic model within the university research teams. The fourth chapter discusses the traits of the university scientific research teams, the hypotheses on the influencing factors, and the design of scaling methods as well. In the fifth chapter the team members of the research teams were surveyed, and the results were analyzed with the SPSS16.0software. In the final chapter the suggestions for establishing the knowledge sharing system in the university scientific research teams are put forward.
