With the implementation of the policy of higher education enrollment, higher educationalready from elite education into the popularization education stage in China. The scale of ourcountry higher education continuously enlarge, in the process of the entire higher educationsystem in China increasingly has diversified characteristics. It’s adapted to the needs of highereducation in China to the popularization in a certain extent. But also increasethe stratification within the higher education system. By the global financial crisis and theincreasing number of college graduates in the dual impact , the competition for scarceresources of high quality higher education become the focus of individual and family. In thiscontext, how the family capital effect the acquisition of higher education become the focusof domestic and foreign scholars.In this study, based on the theories of EMI assumptions, the economic capital,social capital, cultural capital ,used family capital self questionnaire as a measurement tool tosurvey the varying types of colleges and universities in the levels of 2010 Tianjin .Use SPSS17.0 statistical analysis of survey data and empirical research, the following mainconclusions: (1) Family of capital and higher education opportunities for individual have animportant impact on types of choosing university;(2) Have more family capital of the studentsin higher education will hold more opportunities and advantages; (3)Family have more socialcapital and the college students gathered in the upper level, on the contrary,the students enrolled in local or occupational characterized by colleges and universities;(4)Families have more cultural capital of students attending both the University or highereducation opportunities are in a clearly advantageous position;(5) Different parts of the familycapital to individual higher education opportunity have different functions, the largest impacton the role of family social capital, followed by family cultural capital and the familyeconomic capital is the smallest.In order to reduce the influence of family capital, promote the realization of the equaleducation, there are four proposals: (1) enhancing importance of the impact offamily capital on accession to higher education; (2)reducing the impact offamily capital on accession to higher education; (3)balance the amount of public cultureproducts, compensating appropriately in culture distribution; (3) pay great attention to the roleof accumulation of education, balance the distribution of resources of pre-university.
