The pursuit of social justice has always been the mainstream value orientation of thedevelopment of the whole society. Education is the main method and carrier of social mobility,education fair is the cornerstone of social justice. As the important content of educationdemocracy,the equality of education opportunity is the basic direction and goal of the worldeducation reform and development, and a fundamental problem of the fairness of educationresearch. Higher education opportunities are inextricably linked with access to socialresources, research of higher education enrollment is an important point of education fairness.Studies of the relationship between the higher education opportunity and family capital are animportant content in the study of equality of educational opportunity. This study uses binarylogistic regression model to examine the factors of family capital which can affect theindividuals obtaining the opportunity of higher education. The samples of this study comefrom2010China family follow-up survey CFPS (China Family Panel Studies) data of ChinaSocial Science Research Center (ISSS) of Peking University. This paper extracted the sampleorigin, gender, level of education, his father and mother’s level of education; father’soccupation; family year income etc.. The integrated use of the literature analysis, empiricalresearch and statistical regression, comparative research methods in this paper, tries to findout which social class in the society can benefit from increased opportunity of highereducation; and what role of the factors of family capital plays in obtaining higher educationopportunities; what factors of family capital plays a decisive role in access to higher educationduring the opportunity.This paper is divided into six parts, the first part is the introduction, puts forward thesubject, summarizes the relevant literature review from two aspects of home and abroad,analyzes and summarizes the characteristics and deficiency of the research at home andabroad, and then introduces the theoretical and practical significance for the study and themain research methods. The second part is the concept of relevant concepts.Including familycapital definition and dimensions of family capital, higher education chance acquirement. The famous French sociologist Bourdieu’s viewpoint to the concept of family capital is borrowed,and based on this the dimensions of family capital is defined. The third part is the detailedexplanation of the study design, including the research hypotheses, sources of data, variablesdefinition, binary logistic regression model fundation etc.. The fourth part is to analyze thecollected data, including general data descriptive analysis and the descriptive analysis ofsample data. The fifth part is to use SPSS software to regress the dualistic logistic model tofind out the effect of related factors of family capital to higher entrance opportunity. The sixthpart is the conclusion and thinking. Summarize the conclusion of the study, and find out thepathes to equalize opportunity of the higher education.The influence of the three aspects of the family capital——economic capital, culturalcapital and social capital——on higher education entrance opportunity, can enrich theresearch contents of the fairness of education, deepen the education equality of opportunity.This study in the research field of the education equity is not a tip of the iceberg, but just atentative exploration, I hope I can take this as the foundation, deepen the study in the laterresearch.
