With the continuous development of China’s economy and the modernization of migrant workers continues to increase rural family structure has undergone great changes, the traditional nuclear family and the main family dwindling, spawned a new form of family, the left-behind children family, and the number of such families develop an upward trend in the future, arising from issues related to follow. In particular, the needs of rural left-behind children and the corresponding social support issues become prominent increasingly, aroused common concern.Through quantitative and qualitative research method of combining the use of questionnaires, interviews, participation in the form of observation, investigation and on the basis of literature review, first of all rural left-behind children on the Ceshan Primary School in Qianjiang District, according to Maslow’s needs level theory of the demand situation of left-behind children in classification,. And the study found that their needs to meet very low. Additionally, this study found that left-behind children in rural areas needs to meet, mainly by external social support and social support showed a wide range of pattern. Love and on the data collected were analyzed and found the existence of inadequate social support, can not meet the needs of the left-behind children, the specific performance:physiological needs, social support, basic protection; security needs, social support; vested in the needs of the community to support the serious deficiencies; respect the needs of social support has not yet attracted attention; self-complete lack of social support needs.Through the research we found that in order to meet the various needs of the left-behind children, and to achieve effective social support for them, we must community integration of the various forces and joint efforts. Therefore, we must continue to protect the rural left-behind children physiological needs; support system to increase support for its security needs; improve their belonging and love needs; great importance to the needs of their respect and seek to promote self-realization. Left-behind children in relation to the quality of the population and labor cultivation, related to rural economic and social development, the social stability and sustainable development. Research on countermeasures and suggestions of the social support of left-behind children, to meet the needs of the left-behind children and promote individual growth and development of left-behind children have a certain practical significance, but also for the construction and development of the national rural areas and social and national harmony constructed to provide a realistic basis.
