Educational theory and practice studies have shown that early reading plays anirreplaceable role on the growth of the children’s life and learning, more and morepeople are starting to focus on it. The Ministry of Education bring Early Reading into<Kindergarten Education Guidelines (Trial)>. Kindergarten teachers implement theteaching of early reading actively. Parents also understand the early readingincreasingly deeper. As the good material for early reading, picture book isincreasingly favored by the kindergarten teachers that due to the promotion of theexperts and scholars in recent years. In this paper, I try to understand and analysis thereal situation by surveying the teaching of young children picture book reading ofJinan, and propose the education proposal to improve the teaching instructionalstrategies of preschool teachers. The final destination is promoting the development ofthe early childhood’s reading ability.The study used a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods.First of all, I collect the data of the general situation about the teaching ofkindergarten picture book reading of Jinan by questionnaires and interviews method.This part mainly involves preschool teachers’ ideas and practice about the teaching ofpicture books, besides the information of the kindergarten’s idea of the teaching ofpicture book reading and the implement of educational policy. In addition, tounderstand the experts’ comprehend and suggestion of the picture book teaching byinterview; Secondly, there are two way, entering kindergarten to observe the collectiveactivities of teaching and watching the audio-visual of the excellent teaching, bywhich I can record continuously the specific situation of picture-book-teachingcollecting by the observation. Third, using the gathered information above, I analysisthe status quo of the teaching of kindergarten picture book reading of Jinan; Fourth, according to the findings and analysis, I try to raise feasible countermeasures for theproblems that exists in the current situation of the teaching of young children picturebook reading to improve the level of reading in kindergarten.
