Carrying out parent-child picture books reading activities in the family has become a popular choice for cultivating children’s interest in reading in family education.For3-6-year-old children,picture books can help children understand the environment.Under the guidance of parents,children can deeply understand the stories of picture books,integrate the children’s social and life experience,thus improve the quality of children’s picture book reading,and promote the development of children’s language,imagination and thinking.The purpose of this research is to understand the current situation of parent-child picture books reading for children aged 3-6.,to analyze the problems in the process of guidance,and to put forward relevant suggestions.This research uses literature method,questionnaire method,interview method and observation method,The research objects are 327 parents of children in 5 kindergartens in Shashi District,Jingzhou City.First,the parents of these children were surveyed by questionnaires.Secondly,observing the parent-child picture book reading activities of10 families,selecting 3 representative families to analyze,and interviewing the parents of these 3 families,collect information on parent-child picture books reading parental guidance behavior of children aged 3-6.This research carried out a study on parent-child picture book reading parent guidance behavior of 3-6 year old children from different dimensions,first,explore the preparation,guidance and extension work for parents of young children to carry out parent-child picture book reading activities.Then,it analyzes parents’ educational concept and behavior through interviews and observation.Based on the above research results,the study found that there are the following problems in the parental guidance behavior of children aged 3-6 in parent-child picture books reading: parents’ reading preparation is not enough,parents’ reading guidance is short of science,interest and interactivity;Parents’ are lack of awareness of reading extension;children’s response is uneven.On this basis,some suggestions are put forward from the aspects of parents,kindergarten and society: parents should deepen their understanding of parent-child picture book reading,create a good reading environment for children,and learn the skills of parent-child picture book reading;Kindergarten should organize picture book reading and experience exchange activities,create a multi-reading environment;The social government should make full use of community resources,strengthen the guidance of picture library to parents.
