Complements have been as an important part in teaching of Chinese as a second language, and a difficult knowledge for foreign students. Textbook is an important implement for studying grammar. The key of the quality of teaching effect is on the arrangement of textbook and on the guidance of teachers. So the thesis has studied the contents of textbook and tactics of teaching. In the first place, this paper started from the verb-complement structure in Chinese Course analyzes the semantic orientation of supplemental compound words and verb-complement phrases.Secondly, in order to investigate the situation of acquisition of complements in Chinese Course, the paper gathers error corpus of school assignment of student studying abroad in Southwest University. There are four kinds of error from the error corpus classified according to the complements system of Chinese Course:miss, miss to add, miss to replace and miss to sequence. Then this paper has an initial analysis of internal reasons that consist of interlingual interference, intralingual interference, communicative strategies of students and external causes that consist of teacher, textbook, language environment for these errors, under interlangage theory and cognitive psychology. Finally, through the analysis of the arrangement of complements system in Chinese Course, this paper has some characteristics and some deficiencies. Meanwhile, the paper makes some suggestions for the content of Chinese Course:to improve the compilation of teaching materials and adopt a step by step tactics of teaching; reinforce the teaching of semantic structure; attach importance to situational teaching and avoid the simplest teaching of grammar; limit the students to use avoidance strategy.
