| Verb-complement structure in Modern Chinese is an important and different part in Teaching of Chinese as a Second Language, for its semantic structure is extremely complicated and its forms are various, showing unique features of Chinese.This thesis is to analyze the deficiencies in current system of complement in TCSL and to explore the semantic structure of complement structure as a whole instead of focusing on the semantic features of complement themselves. And this thesis is to describe the semantic structure of Verb-complement structure in detail, to divide complement into 8 kinds which include 18 subdivisions and to make suggestions on teaching complement on the basis of the study.This thesis consists of 3 chapters and closing remarks.Chapter 1 is to state the theoretical basis and significance of this thesis and the literature reviews of complement.Chapter 2 is to discuss the bottleneck of traditional divisions of complement, and to declare that it is impossible to separate every type of complement clearly in the aspect of semantic features, due to the existence of the effect of prototype. And it is to explore further the semantic structure of Verb-complement structure from a new angle, to divide and describe the semantic types of complement.Chapter 3 is to make suggestions and tactics on teaching some typical types of complement.Closing remarks is to summarize the thesis and to discuss the problems in this thesis. |
