"Verb+die" structure in modern Chinese is used frequently, this article emphaticallydelve into its expressive features from two parts.This article analysis this paper structure emphatically and respectively from thefollowing two parts.Part one: the semantic transformation of the word "death", the transfer of part of speechand its grammaticalization process are analyzed. It covers all the meanings of the word "die"and the transformation of the part of speech of the word "die" in the progress of thegrammaticalization. And all these can lay the foundation for the second part.The second part: this part has an analysis on the main characteristics of the sentencesemantics of the structure, the changes of the semantics, the semantics direction and the rulesof the verbs and adjectives which can be used in this structure. In this article, for the meaningof “die†is divided into "real death" and "virtual death". For the "real death" part, the basicmeaning "death or the end of life" and" inflexible or inactive†should be used, and generallybe the complement of result after a verb or an adjective; While "virtual death" part, thegrammatical meaning should be used to express the high degree, and generally be thecomplement of degree after verbs and adjectives.Characteristic and innovation of this paper lies in: this article puts forward a newanalysis of structure which is based on previous studies, and the comprehensive analysis ofstructure "verb+die" is achieved by using the comprehensive analysis method. In this paper,comprehensive and multiple perspectives analysis is used to the "verb+die" structure, whichis based on previous studies on not only this problem but also similar problems. And at thesame time, concurrent words are brought forward that can be used to express the "real death"and "virtual death", and also the rules of these. Hope that it will have certain academic value.In addition, the writing of this paper is based on the problems occurring in the process ofteaching Chinese as a foreign language, therefore, in this paper, the analysis of the conclusionwill play a supplementary role for teaching Chinese as a foreign language. |
