Exercises play a very important role in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. It mainly displays in:first, the diagnosis function, students can learn problems through doing exercises, and know what knowledge they have known, and what they haven’t known. Second, effects of feedback, teachers can know which teaching contents students master through checking exercises. It also can be used to improve teaching. Vocabulary exercises play an important part in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.What’s more, the study of vocabulary exercises is important for teachers’ teaching and students’ learning vocabulary.This research is divided into five parts. The first chapter is the introduction, putting forward this paper’s research background, research significance, the research status, the object of study, methods of research. In the second and the third chapter, we respectively do data statistics from the amount of vocabulary exercises and the task type of textbooks, to find some characteristics, and then we analyze the formation of these characteristics. The fourth chapter is the questionnaire survey. The questionnaire survey content involves whether the form or content is interesting, whether it’s diversity, whether students like it; whether the amount of exercises is appropriate, and whether the vocabulary exercises are effective. Based on the questionnaire survey results, we analysis whether the design is scientific or effective, and point out the existing questions to the design’s shortage. In the fifth chapter, we put forward some suggestions to the design of the intermediate Chinese comprehensive vocabulary exercises and summarizes the deficiencies of this paper.
