The Comparative Study Of The Abbreviations In Chinese And Vietnamese

With the economic take-off, along the time language as the way of thecommunication expected many changes. Abbreviation is a shortening of one word. It isused in economics, politics, science and other spheres for convenience. Now it is the partof the language which we cannot omit.In China and Vietnam you can see abbreviations on TV, in the internet, you can hearpeople use it in the radio program or in magazines and there are getting more and more ofthem. During these years China made some researches on how to omit this phenomenon,which strongly influences our life, but Vietnam didn’t put so much stress on it.I am very interested in this topic, so i has chosen it as a start point for research paper.The aim is to make a comparison of the abbreviations of two countries and through theresearch find out their characteristics and the differences between them, so it might helpin Chinese and Vietnamese language teaching and translating for students. It also mightbe helpful for the interpreters for improving their language skills.
