As a new and special language phenomenon, the lettered-words have attracted linguists’ attention since it happened. Many dissertations have studied lettered-words from different points of view, different levels and sides. But as a kind of words which are changing, the lettered-words need further study in many aspects. So the study on lettered-words will become a popular topic over a long period of time.The thesis will base the analysis of the Lettered-words and English Abbreviations, and discuss the differences and similarities of the Lettered-words and English Abbreviations from different sides. By doing this, we can find the rule of the letter words’ changing. And the research can offer useful reference to the teaching and the research of the history of the development of Chinese language words.Expect the introduction and conclusion, the thesis is divided into5parts.Chapter one is "comparison of Chinese lettered-words and English Abbreviations on produce factors". The thesis points the difference of lettered-words and English Abbreviations on produce factors from inside factors and outside factors.Chapter two is "comparison of Chinese lettered-words and English Abbreviations on classification". Because of the different aspects, Chinese lettered-words have a lot of classification. English Abbreviations have single classification.Chapter three is "comparison of Chinese lettered-words and English Abbreviations on constitution". This part discusses the difference of lettered-words and English Abbreviations on constitution. We find that the lettered-words which made by ourselves and which come from English simulate English Abbreviations on constitution.Chapter four is "comparison of Chinese lettered-words and English Abbreviations on pronunciation". Different people have different view on the pronunciation of letter words. We choose the best popular way of lettered-words’pronunciation to compare with English Abbreviations.Chapter five is "the sense of Chinese lettered-words and English Abbreviations’ comparison". This chapter is the focal point of the total thesis. It discusses the meaning of the thesis on letter words’regularity and teaching for foreigners.Conclusion summaries the whole contents and introduces the situation of letter words’the dictionary. At last, forecast the lettered-words’trends.
