Catheter associated urinary tract infections (catheter-associatedurinary tract infections, CAUTIs) in patients with indwelling catheter, orunplug the catheter within48hours of the occurrence of urinary systeminfections. Catheter-associated urinary tract infection is the most common typeof infection in the hospital infection. Catheter associated urinary tract infectionrisk factors include: the patient’s own aspects and catheter placement and care,two key aspects of risk factors. The patient’s own risk factors include: thepatient’s primary disease, age, gender, underlying diseases, immune levels,living habits and other health conditions. Catheter placement and maintenanceof the main risk factors include: catheter placement (whether strict aseptic),the material of the catheter, catheterization time, the clinical application ofantibacterial drugs and catheter care quality. The main mode of transmissionof catheter-associated urinary tract infection retrograde infection. The majorityof medical personnel should be risk factors for its occurrence, strengthencatheter associated urinary tract infection prevention and treatment efforts.Purpose: Prostatic hyperplasia as a common disease of older men,and when its associated bladder urinary retention, indwelling catheter as themost simple and effective treatment that is both safe and effective to exportthe urine, but also to prevent or treat the symptoms of hydronephrosis, therebyprotecting the renal function. Difference in the incidence of urinary tractinfection research indwelling nano silver coated catheter and ordinary catheterpatients.Summary: From October2011to December2012, receivedtreatment in our hospital urology prostate hyperplasia with bladder urinaryretention indwelling catheter in30patients, and nano-silver coated catheter group, the experimental group were randomly divided into ordinary cathetergroupcontrol group, need to indwelling catheter for28days. Indwellingcatheter time is less than28days before the indwelling catheter urinary tractinfection excluded, patients were asked to reach into the group a total of30cases, including nano-silver coated catheter group (15cases), ordinary cathetergroup (15cases), indwelling7,14,21,28days after the catheter urinespecimens from urine check white blood cells, bacterial cultures after catheterremoval, catheter bacterial culture at the end. First, all test results datacollation excel in tabular form for the next step statistical processing. Analysisof the test group and the control group, the test data obtained application SPSS15.0statistical software application chi-square test specimens from urineleukocytes,7,14,21,28days after the two test group indwelling catheterbacterial culture positive number comparison.Results:7,14,21,28days after indwelling catheter the ordinary cathetergroup of positive urine leukocyte number is6,8,11, and13. Number of nanosilver antimicrobial catheter is1,2,4and5.Experimental group wassignificantly lower positive urine culture(P is0.031、0.02、0.011、0.003,<0.05). Number of ordinary the catheter group of urine culture positive is3,7,9and12. Number of nano silver antimicrobial catheter is0,1,3and4. Exceptfor7day had no difference between the two groups, other data P values wereless than0.05, there are significant differences.Escherichiacoli,pseudom onasaeruginosa,Staphylococcus aureaus and proteus species is6,4,4,2people.Number of nano silver antimicrobial catheter is2,1,1and0. Number ofcatheter culture Escherichiacoli,pseudom onas aeruginosa,Staphy lococcusaureaus and proteus species is9.6.4and2. Number of nano silverantimicrobial catheter is3,2,1and1. The experimental group was significantlylower than the control group.Conclusion:Compared with ordinary catheter nano silver coated catheter has some antibacterial,reduce the incidence of patients with catheter-associated urinary tract infection.It is more suitable for the patients need long-term indwelling catheter.
