| ObjectiveTo verify the necessity of Cobio S120 artificial view review;to explore the correlation between report of Cobio S120 and manual microscopy;and to explore the application value of quantitative analysis of urinary formed elements in urinary tract infection of paraplegic patients with long-term indwelling catheter.Methods1.14 paraplegic patients who needed to indwell catheter long-term were screened.Then clean mid-stage urine was collected every morning from catheter indwelled to replaced.Quantitative culture of bacteria was performed and urine formed elements quantitative analysis were performed.Adopting the bacterial culture as the gold standard,the ROC curve was made to determine the cut-off value of WBC,total bacteria and rod-shaped bacteria in urinary tract infection of paraplegic patients with indwelling catheter.2.58 urine samples were collected when the paraplegic patients with indwelling catheter were suspected suffering urinary tract infection.Quantitative bacterial culture,quantitative analysis of urinary formed elements and manual microscopy were performed respectively.The preliminary report of quantitative analysis of urinary formed elements by Cobio S120 and the results of artificial examination were compared to verify the necessity of artificial review3.100 urine samples were screened from outpatients and inpatients without indwelling catheter.Quantitative analysis of urine formed elements and manual microscopy were performed respectively to explore the relevance between quantitative analysis and manual microscopy in RBC,WBC examination.Results1.The results of WBC,RBC and Rod-shaped bacteria in Cobio S120 were increased significantly by the examination of artificial view(P<0.05),while the results of total bacteria and coccus were decreased significantly(P<0.05).2.In routine patients,the detection rates of WBC and RBC by Cobio S120 were inferior than that by manual microscopy(P<0.05);there were no difference between the detection rates of these two methods when we suspected that paraplegic patients suffering urinary infection.3.The results of urinary WBC,total bacteria and rod-shaped bacteria became higher and higher since paraplegic patients indwelled catheter.According to ROC curve values,the best positive determinations of WBC,total bacteria and rod-shaped bacteria are88.77u/μl,150.40u/μl,56.61u/μl respectively.Conclusion1.Cobio S120 urine visual quantitative analyzer is very suitable for the paraplegic patients with indwelling catheter.Each report needs to be reviewed by artificial view;urine manual microscopy is still very important and the positive results of RBC and WBC in Cobio S120 can reduce the manual microscopy work.2.Total bacteria and rod-shaped bacteria in Cobio S120 has high diagnostic value in urinary tract infection of paraplegic patients with long-term indwelling catheter.The specificity and positive predictive value of rod-shaped bacteria are extremely high.The cut off value of WBC far exceeds the threshold given by the manufacturer. |
