Purpose:the aim was to observe therapeutic effect of qinjin tang treating acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(phlegm heat in lungs)by combining it with routine western medicine. The study result will be helpful to provide scientific and objective basis for treating AECOPD with the Method Combining TCM and western medicine. Methods:A randomized,single-center,parallel group trial was adopted72cases were enrolled in this study, and all patients were randomly divided into two groups. After treatment,we summarized and analysised the integral of syndrome of Traditional Chinese Medicine and laboratory indexes, made a assessment of the therapeutic efficacy of the two groups.Results:(1) the basic information:compared the gender, age, duration, pulmonary function level, TCM symptoms integral, pulmonary function determination result, arterial blood gas analysis results and laboratory indexes in the two groups, statistical results were not different significantly (P>0.05). So It was comparable between the two groups.(2)Integral of syndrome of TCM compared Integral of syndrome of TCM in cough, sputum volume, sputum character, dyspnea, wheeze, treatment group was better than control group on7th day(P<0.05). compared Integral of syndrome of TCM in cough, sputum volume, sputum characte treatment group was better than control group on14th day (P<0.05).(3)total score of syndrome of TCM:Compared with pre-post treatment, total score of syndrome of TCM in the two groups descented obviously(P<0.01); and treatment group was better than control group (P<0.05).(4) Testing of Lung Function:Compared with pre-post treatment, FEV1、 FEVl%pred and FEV1/FVC were different significantly in the two groups (P<0.01); but there were no significant differences between the two groups (P>0.05).(5)the artery blood gas analysis:Compared with pre-post treatment, pH,PaO2, PaCO2, BE, HCO, SaO2results were different significantly in the two groups (P<0.01); and those in treatment group were better than those in control group excluded BE (P<0.05).(6) routine blood test:Compared with pre-post treatment, WBC、N、RBC Hb and PLT results were different significantly in the two groups (P<0.01); WBC and N in treatment group were better than those in control group(P<0.05).(7)therapeutic efficacy:after7days treatment, the total effectual rate and effective rate was34.3%and71.4%respectively in the treatment group,and12.1%and42.4%in the control group.after14days treatment.the total effectual rate and effective rate was80%and97.1%respectively in the treatment group,and54.5%and93.9%in the control group. so therapeutic efficacy of treatment group was better than control group curative effect (P<0.05).(8)Antibiotic use time:The treatment group can shorten the time of antibiotic use compared with the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The study resultshowd that treating AECOPD by TCM with Western Medicine was better thanby only western medicine therapy. This combined method could improve patients’systemic symptom quickly and noticeably, control the disease against developing further.and this is helpful to provide objective basis for treating AECOPD with the Method Combining TCM and western medicine.
