1.Research Background:The honourable tutor Zhang is one of the nationally known old physician of Traditional Chinese medicine. He is not only a very experienced clinician but also known as a talent medical theorist in TCM symtomatology research. He has been doing fifty seven years of clinical working and scientific research of TCM,so he is very well studied in this field. His prolonged clinical practice including the use of Chinese and western medicine. therefore he obtained a great quantity valuable experiences and skilled in the treatment of majority retalive diseases with the therapeutic method of soothingness and regulating Qi movement mechanism,at the same time his experienced basic modified prescription Su Tiao Tang (Decoction of soothing and regulating Qi mechanism) also has been put into clinical application for long time and received satisfactory results. In order to enhance the curative effect of relative disease that ought to flexible master the applicable technique of aforementioned method and formula is necessary said prof Zhang, in addition he taught us how to use them.2.Purpose:①The main objective of this article is actually to present and conscientious research on prof Zhang’s reasonable learned thought and valuable clinical experiences of soonthingness and regulating Qi movement mechanism.②Elucedating the theoretical significance and practical suitable value of this therapeutic method and formula.③Evaluating the curative effects of majority relative diseases treated led by the above method and modified formula.④put foreward a primary discussion on some relative questions of certain ploblem for despen our comprehension or acquire a understanding.3.Methods:①Diagnostic basis of patient selection should be depending upon the type of syndrome patterns. The principle of choosing is that when the case is suffering form stagnation Qi movement mechanism (especially the liver Qi depression and Qi stagnation) which led up the dysfunction and disorders of internal organs, there may appear various symptoms, the diagnosis is entirely clinical and based on the comprehensive symptoms such as a feeling of depression and a sense of unhappiness or mental anxiety, choking sensation, sighing-like breaths, fullness sensation or pain in the chest or costal regions, dizziness. bitter taste in the mouth, suppressed appetite, nausea, abnormal menstruation or monstrous complaints or distension and bread pain in women, felling a lump in the throat, occasional epigastric or abdominal distension or pain, hiccup, regurgitation of acid, diarrhea. wiry or sunken unsmooth pulse. All these aware symptoms enable a diagnosis of stagnation Qi movement mechanism syndrome to made most probably with confidence.②Therapeutic principles:The general principle of treatment must be abide by following guideline such as treat with both elimination and reinforcement,reinforce the health Qi and eliminate the pathogenic factors, and treating the acute before the chronic etc. The directive method of treatment is aimed at the aforementioned syudrome of stagnation Qi movement mechanism with soothingness and regulating the stagnated. Qi.③Basic prescription and modification:the basic formula is Su Tiao Tang, the modification of this recipe is not only on a definite principle but should be accommodated in the light of the patient’s condition as to suit the drugs to the illness and ensure their therapeutic effects. The useful modifiable methods such as put in the drugs for clear heat, for purge fire, for eliminate dampness, dispel wind, warm the middle, free the collateral vessels, fortify spleen. Warm spleen, emolliate the liver etc. these are in addition to what the recipe formed.4.Results:The application of aforementioned method is particularly helpful to the chronic diseases and functional illness such as functional dyspepsia, chronic gastritis, irritable bowel syndrome, lobal hyperplacia of breast, hysteric globe etc. In the past three years more than700patients of relative diseases were treated, of796cases,315cases showed clinical cure,341cases improved on the mend, and139had no cure. The overall effective rate being82.4%. the basic modifiable formula put into clinical application had not obvious side-effects discorved.
