The Observation Based On The "Gas Regulating Method" Using Acupuncture Combined With Moxa Cone Moxibustion Treatment To The Liver Stagnation And Spleen Deficiency Type Of Primary Insomnia

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy based on the “gas regulating method”using acupuncture combined with moxa cone moxibustion treatment to the liver stagnation and spleen deficiency type of primary insomnia.Methods: Choose the criteria of 60 patients with liver stagnation and spleen deficiency type of primary insomnia into standard,using SPSS17.0 statistical software randomly divided into treatment group and control group,30 cases per each group.Treatment group using acupuncture combined with moxa cone moxibustion treatment.The control group with oral administration of alprazolam tablets treatment.Treatment group:acupuncture points:Hegu,Taichong,Neiguan,Qimen,Yanglingquan,Tianshu,Zusanli,Yinlingquan(both sides),Zhongwan.Acupuncture method:needle into 10-30 mm,after small amplitude lifting thrusting twirling till gas has got,using reinforcing and reducing method,for 30 min,every 10 mins hand-manipulating the needle once.moxa cone moxibustion points:Xinshu,Ganshu,Pishu(both sides).Each point 3 moxa cones of moxibustion.Operation: apply appropriate amount of paraffin oil in moxibustion acupoints,place the moxa cones,using joss-stick to light the cones,till the moxa cones burned to the patients feel burn,3 moxa cones of moxibustion every time for the treatment.3 treatments per week,each treatment interval of more than 24 hours for the treatment group.The control group with oral administration of alprazolam tablets treatment of 0.4mg,half an hour before sleep daily.The two groups were observed after treatment for 4 weeks.The curative effect of TCM symptom score,Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)and quality of life scale(SF-36)were evaluated.Statistical software SPSS17.0 was used to analyze the collected data.Results:1.There was no statistical significant difference between the two groups before and after treatment in terms of gender,age,duration of disease(P>0.05).2.After treatment,the curative effect of the treatment group is better than the control group(P<0.05).3.After treatment,two groups of liver stagnation and spleen deficiency symptoms in quantitative grading scale score comparison,P<0.01,in the improvement of liver stagnation and spleen deficiency symptoms,the treatment group is better than the control group.4.Before and after treatment,comparing the PSQI score,there are significant differences in sleep quality,sleep time,daytime function and total score of treatment group(P<0.01),there was significant difference in sleep time,sleep efficiency(P<0.05);the control group had significant difference in sleep quality,sleep duration,sleep time,sleep efficiency and total score(P < 0.05).After treatment,the two groups were both had improvement in sleep aspects.5.Before and after the treatment,the SF-36 quality of life scale factor scores were compared,there was significant difference in physical functioning,role-physical,bodily pain,vitality for the treatment group(P<0.01),there was significant difference in the general health,role-emotional and mental health(P<0.05);the control group in physiological function,role-physical,mental health had significant difference(P<0.05).The quality of life of the two groups after treatment was higher than before.6.After treatment,compared two groups of PSQI score,the two groups in the aspect of sleep quality,daytime function has significant difference(P<0.01),at the time to fall asleep,sleep duration time,sleep efficiency,total scores have significant difference(P<0.05).The treatment group in improving sleep quality is better than the control group.7.After treatment,two groups of SF-36 quality of life scale factor scores were compared,there was significant difference in physical functioning,role-physical,bodily pain and vitality(P<0.01),there was significant difference in the general health,role-emotional and mental health(P<0.05).In the improvement of quality of life,the treatment group was better than the control group.Conclusion: The treatment for the liver stagnation and spleen deficiency type of primary insomnia,using the method of “gas regulating” acupuncture combined with moxa cone moxibustion can effectively improve the curative effect of TCM symptom,sleep quality and the quality of life for the patients,also it is superior to oral administration of alprazolam tablets.
