ObjectiveIn this study, the homes for the olderly in Jinzhou City was taken as a object, investigated the staffs’ current situation and build a stratified training modelthrough four aspects of training needs analysis, planning and design training, training for implementation and training results evaluation, and in order toimprove the system of old-age nursing training further.MethodsTook Jinzhou city for example, stratified method was used randomly,76nurses working in17homes became the object of study. The research mainlymade by the methods of literature review, expert discussion, questionnaires, individual interviews, empirical analysis, etc.Building the Stratified TrainingModel on four parts: Training needs analysis, planning and design of the training, the specific implementation, and training results assessment.Results1、The status of research results is that the average staff/beds rate inJinzhou is1:12-1:23, nurses is mostly middle-aged women (53.95%), juniormiddle school education (50%), temporary, contract-based (84.21%), accountedfor69.74%of staffs has no professional qualification certificates.2、With the stratification on service year and the job qualification condition, there were statistical significant differences between nursing staffs’ trainingrequirement (P<0.01); with the stratification on characteristic of homes, there were statistical differences between nursing staffs’ training requirement(P<0.05).3、Stratified training in accordance with the nursing service age, used theKirkpatrick Evaluation Model for training evaluation. Compared with the pasttraining, the satisfaction significantly increased after the stratified training(P<0.01); degree of knowledge was significantly different (P<0.01); behavior layerevaluation, the self-assessment, peer assessment, elderly care satisfactionwere significantly different (P<0.01); staff turnover rates, care complaintsdecreased (P<0.05), the occupancy rate for the elderly increased (P<0.05).Conclusions1、The quality of care in homes should be improved from nursing staffs’quality and quantity in Jinzhou City, and stratified training is necessary.2、Stratified training model is feasible and effective to use in Jinzhou City,The stratification training can increase the satisfaction of the nurses’training, increase the knowledge level of nursing care. The knowledge can beuse in nursing daily work adequately, and also can increase the room rate ofhomes, reduce separation rate and the complaint rate.3、When use the stratified training model,we should be emphasis on therole of the training syllabus, training needs, focusing on the influence ofpersonal factors of employees on the work and training, timely feedback fortraining evaluation results should promote training of continuous improvement.
