The Research On Building The Harmony Doctor-Patient Relationship From The Angle Of The Social Work

With the continual development of China’s economy, people’s living level is improved. The demand for health has gradually increased. the single biomedical model is transferred to the bio-social-psychological model. The conflicts between doctors and patients continue to increase. The frequent occurrence of the major medical dispute case has caused extensive concern. The doctor-patient relationship has become one of the hot issues in the society. The doctor-patient relationship is an important social relationship. Harmonious doctor-patient relationship or not affect social harmony and stability. Facing the status of tension on the doctor-patient relationship, I analyze the reasons on the tension of the doctor-patient relationship, combined with the expertise and the method of social work. And I comprehensively analyze an effective way to build a harmonious doctor-patient relationship.This study is mainly through the field observations and interviews to collect the first-hand information, combined with the literature analysis and a social work perspective. This study uses the professional theory and method of social work to analyze the current status on the development and reason of the doctor-patient relationship. This study explores the professional approach on the perspective of social work to build the harmonious doctor-patient relationship and provide the useful reference and suggestion to improve the doctor-patient relationshipThis paper argues that social work involved in the doctor-patient relationship is practicable and necessary. It has its own advantage compared to other methods. Social work as a third party to involve in the issues can fairly mediate the doctor-patient relationship, and easier get the trust of both doctors and patients. And social work is the job that stresses the professional ethics and skills. Its professional skills and methods are better for the communication between doctors and patients. Social works can build the more harmonious doctor-patient relationship obviously, and offer the proposals to the policy formulation and long-term development of the hospital.The research questions are discussed in five parts of this paper:Part Ⅰ:It mainly introduces the background and significance of the paper, the relevant theoretical foundation, the research status at home and abroad on this issue, and the proposal of thesis ideas and research methods.Part Ⅱ:It defines the important concepts in this article on the status of the doctor-patient relationship:mainly for the frequent occurrence of doctor-patient conflicts, the loss of trust between doctors and patients, and the harmful effect to the social parties from the disharmonious doctor-patient relationship.Part Ⅲ:It explains the reason for the unharmonious doctor-patient relationship, analyzes the demand for building the harmonious doctor-patient relationship and proposes the main path to improve doctor-patient relationship.Part Ⅳ:Firstly it introduces the practice development of the current medical social work. Secondly it explains the advantages of the social work to build the harmonious doctor-patient relationship. And finally it presents the professional method to build the harmonious doctor-patient relationship in social work.Part Ⅴ:The main conclusion of this study is summarized and the relevant issues are discussed. The shortcomings of this study are reflected, to provide the reference for further research.
