ObjectiveThe purpose of this paper was to revise the University of Portsmouth, UKQoWL tools in order to use the Chinese context by use mathematical statisticalmethods; and structural equation modeling methods to verify the quality of work lifeand job involvement, job embedded, organizational commitment, as well as therelationship between the role of path and internal impact mechanism. Seeks toclarify the quality of working life through the mental state of the impact of healthcare workers, and further affect their work behavior. Make a new interpretation ofthe quality of working life theory, at the same time, provide a reference for healthmanagers how to improve the quality of health care workers work life and thinking.MethodsThe revised Chinese version based on the maturity scale abroad modeled onthe translation-back translation method on the scale; convenience-type sampling,sampling four major public hospital authority, a representative sample of thedepartments in the hospital, to protect each departments are participants in eachhospital issued more than160questionnaires. Were distributed about700copies torecover the650copies, the last449valid questionnaires, the effective recovery rateof64.14%. Consistency reliability testing and confirmatory factor analysis methodson the measurement scale reliability and validity analysis, and structural equationmodeling analysis, the Pearson correlation analysis and hierarchical regressionanalysis on the relationship between the variables.ResultsThrough systematic analysis, the results are as follows: 1. Revisions of the University of Portsmouth, UK QoWL Chinese version of theoverall scale and dimension scale reliability consistency coefficient between0.67≤α≤0.91, a revised scale has good reliability;2. Quality of working life confirmatory factor analysis showed that the revisionsof the scale has good construct validity;3. The quality of life evaluation, are the order of the number of qualifying as: jobsatisfaction (3.48), happiness (3.42), Work-Family Conflict (3.39), the workenvironment (3.34), which control the ability to work (3.33), under investigation ’swork into high compared to low embedding and organizational commitment by theinvestigator;4. The quality of working life and work put into the overall relationship betweenthe model fit indices, quality of working life of an active and positive influence on jobinvolvement;5. In the sub-dimensions of quality of work life, job satisfaction and generalwell-being in0.0l level of job involvement have a significant positive effect;6. Quality of working life for staff organizations commitment has a significantpositive impact, and work embedded as mediating variables;7. Each sub-dimension of the quality of working life, job satisfaction andgeneral well-being at the0.01level of emotional commitment have a significantpositive effect, control the ability to work at0.05level of affective commitment havesignificant positive effects on role; control the ability to work on a sustainedcommitment to have a positive impact; significant positive effect of job satisfactionat the0.01level of normative commitment, the sense of general well-being at the0.05level have a significant positive effect on normative commitment, work familyconflict at the0.05level on a significant positive effect on normative commitment,the working environment at the0.05level of normative commitment have asignificant positive effect. Job satisfaction have significant positive effects on theoverall commitment at the0.01level, the general sense of happiness at the0.05level, a significant positive effect on the overall commitment, the work environmentat the0.05level, the overall commitment to a significant positive influence.8. Each sub-dimension of the quality of work life, job satisfaction, generalhappiness and the working environment at the0.01level of work embedded in a significant positive effect, quality of working life embedded in the work mainlythrough three explanatory powers.9. Embedded and organizational commitment on job involvement has asignificant positive effect on the0.01level.10. Quality of working life, job embeddedness, organizational commitment, jobinvolvement impact the overall model validation found embedded andorganizational commitment play some intermediary role in the relationship betweenjob involvement, the quality of working life.ConclusionsUniversity of Portsmouth, UK, this study revised QoWL Chinese version hasgood reliability and validity, can be widely used in the Chinese scenario; quality ofwork life of health care workers in-depth embedded WHO, attached to the WHO,thereby affecting the health care workers on the WHO level of commitment. Healthcare workers through the evaluation itself and in the quality of life conditions directlyaffect the level of the organization of the psychological contract, and further affectthe level of investment in their work. Health workers should be widespread concernin the medical and nursing staff quality of work life and enhance their workefficiency and performance is significant.
