Objective:To assess using suspension traction treatment for thoracolumbar vertebral body compression fractures in different suspension height with the vertebral compression height. Evaluate the more appropriate suspension height for the suspension traction to treat for thoracolumbar vertebral body compression fracturesMethods:The patients admitted as inpatients to XiaMen Province Hospital of TCM from December2009to January2012with acute thoracolumbar compression fractures were enrolled. The patients were randomly divided into two groups:the20cases, the suspension highly10cm;20cases of control group, the suspension highly5cm. The vertebral compression height was recorded at the admission and in2weeks and4weeks after the reatment. Results:The experimental group and control group in patients with vertebral compression on the degree and treatment for2weeks of vertebral compression degree more P<0.05; Compare the vertebral compression degree of the patients after the treatment for2weeks to the vertebral compression degree of the patients after the treatment for4weeks in each group,P=1.000>0.05.Conclusion:The first2weeks is the most important time for the patients who using suspension traction treatment for their thoracolumbar vertebral body compression fractures.Compare with the suspension highly5cm, the suspension highly10cm will be the more appropriate suspension height for the suspension traction to treat for thoracolumbar vertebral body compression fractures.
