Objective: In this study, we treated the elderly patients with unstable femoralintertrochanteric fractures by Antirotation of Proximal Femoral Nail with manipulativereduction, and analyzed the clinical results to provide a reference for future clinicaltreatment and research. Methods: This study selected22intertrochanteric fracture inpatients from theAffiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine who weretreated by PFNA.Cases aged66-90years old, with an average of73years, including9males and13females. According to Evans-Jensen type, all included are unstable fracture. To make a comprehensive analysis of the age of the patients, operative time, blood loss, wound drainage, load time, fracture healing time, hospitalization time, postoperativecomplications, to evaluate the patients’ hip function after the operation and data wereanalyzed statistically. Results: The full group of subjects, all22cases were followed up for8-12months.According the follow-up date, thre was no phenomenon such as incision non-healing orinfection, deep venous thrombosis, fracture nonunion, coxa vara and internal fixationloosening rupture and spiral blade cutting out in all cases. All patients healed well. Conclusion:In the treatment of elderly patients with unstable intertrochantericfractures, minimally invasive PFNA with close reduction have lots of advantages, such as lesstrauma, fewer complications, and reliable fixed-effects and good fracture recovery, etc. It is an effective method for the clinical treatment of elderly patients with unstableintertrochanteric fracture.
