The Clinical Research On Qian Zheng Fu Yan Yi In Treating Facial Palsy Of Wind Phlegm Obstruction

Objective:This study compared the changes of symptoms,signs and efficacyindicators before and after treatment in120cases of wind phlegm obstruction facial palsypatients,to observed qian zheng fu yan yin in treating Facial palsy of wind phlegmobstruction.Methods:120outpatients of wind phlegm obstruction facial palsy,during January2010to December2011,were divided into treatment group and control group according tothe doctor order randomly and equally. Treatment group used qian zheng fu yan yin, whilecontrol group used Da Huoluo capsule. Two weeks were a course. After two courses therewas a follow-up-visit month. House-Brackmann scale score and TCM symptom scoreimprovement were observed before treatment,after two weeks,four weeks and afollow-up-visit month.Facial Disability Index (FDI) improvement,including FDIP score forbody function and FDIS score for social life function, was observed before treatment andafter four weeks.Result: Clinical efficacy,grading,and integration of House-Brackmann scale score andclinical efficacy,integration of TCM symptom score in the treatment group were better thanthat in the control group (P<0.05).FDIP score and FDIS score after treatment were muchbetter than before treatment in both two groups(P<0.01),but indexes in the treatment groupwere better than that in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion: There is significant clinical effect in improvement in the facial signs andsymptoms, quality of life and psychological level of patients used qian zheng fu yan yin.Qian zheng fu yan yin is affirmed as a secure and effective prescription in treating windphlegm obstruction facial palsy.
