Evlauating the prognosis of patients with facial neuritis early is good for the therapy. Although too many doctors in study the facial neuritis hardly, they were just restricted in clinical research. We seldom to see any theoretical research, exceptially the relationship between differentiation, effectiveness and factors.Objective1. The research of Chinese medical symptomatology:studying the regularities of distribution of facial neuritis.2. The relationship between TCM sumptom and course of disease.3. The generalized assessments of recovery of facial neuritis.4. Clinical study of treating facial neuritis by being taken QianZhengSan Formula and external used of DanShen HongHua.Methods1.125 patients were collected. They were divided into 4 groups such as the passage of cold, wind-heat invasion, phlegm-stasis in channels, qi asthenia causing blood stasis, according to diagnostic criteria of facial neuritis, and received 4 weeks'treatment.2. All patients were treated by QianZhengSan formula as a basic formula,4 weeks for a period of treatment,2 course of treatment as usual.3. All patients were used DanShen and HongHua as a basic external application.4. Patients should be evaluated and reevaluated after 4 weeks'treatment and at the end of the course of treatment. Results1. The patients of the passage of cold make up greater shares of the facial neuritis.2. The elder they were, the longer recovery time they need.3. The following parameters were strongly corelated with more time of recovery after analysis:with severe facial nevre lesion and have hypertension or diabetes.4. There was no statistical signficance between the timing of initial treatment and the recovery time.5. Three groups were higher than the qi asthenia causing blood stasis group in total cure rate.Conclusions1. The passage of cold and the wind-heat invasion were in the majority of facial neuritis.2. The longest course of disease belonged to he qi asthenia causing blood stasis group. The tendency of prognosis from good to bad was The passage of cold,the wind-heat invasion, phlegm-stasis in channels, qi asthenia causing blood stasis.3.
