Objective: Through the discussion of dose-effect relationship of thefiliform needle with Percussopunctator therapy on peripheral facial paralysis tofind the optimum stimulation intensity to obtain the best effect, so that to guideclinical application.Methods:70cases were randomly divided into two groups by the methodof random contrast. One group (35cases) was treated with light stimulation, and another group (35cases) was treated with severe stimulation. To score thetherapeutic effect of the two groups by Sunnybrook (Toronto) facial gradingsystem, and based on the statistical analysis of the results of grading to evaluatethe dose-effect relationship of therapeutic schemes.Results:1. The differences within light stimulation group and severe stimulationgroup both had statistical significance (P<0.001), namely two kinds of therapiesare effective.2. Effect of light stimulation group compared with severe stimulationgroup, the mean difference are52±10.5,43.4±12.7. In light stimulation group(32cases), the curative rate was68.8%(22/32), effectiveness rate was21.9% (7/32), improvement rate was9.3%(3/32), and invalid0cases. In severestimulation group (31cases), the curative rate was51.6%(16/31), effectivenessrate was12.9%(4/31), improvement rate was32.3%(10/31), and invalid1cases (3.2%). It was showed that the therapeutic effect of light stimulationgroup was better than severe stimulation group. Curative and effective ratio oftwo groups were90.6%and64.5%respectively, and both had statisticalsignificance (P<0.05).3. By fitting linear regression on the sex, age, course of disease and thescores before treatment, found the P <0.05. The differences of the therapeuticeffect between the light stimulation and severe stimulation group had statisticalsignificance. The therapeutic effect of light stimulation group was better thansevere stimulation group. The standardized regression coefficient show that thetherapeutic effect order was disease course (-0.450)>scores before treatment(-0.314)> group (-0.226)> age (-0.225),Conclusion:After treatment, patient`s symptomatic of two groups got verybig improvement, two kinds of therapies are effective. Through analyzing theaverage difference value, multi factor analysis and distribution of efficacy level,we found that the therapeutic effect of light stimulation was significantly morethan heavy stimulation with filiform needle with Percussopunctator therapy.
