ObjectivesTo describe the status of social support and quality of life of Chinese elderly with Diabetes Mellitus in YanJi city and explore the relationship between them. To contrast the difference and learn about the level of quality of life based on different, demographics and influencing factors.MethodsNon-experimental research design method was used in this study.338Chinese elderly with Diabetes Mellitus in YanJi city were selected by convenience sampling Structured interview about social support and quality of life were conducted and physiological and biochemical parameter of the subjects including height, weight, waist, TC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C, HbAlc were measured. Dates were analysed by SPSS16.0. Using mean, standard deviation, the percentage of the study of socio-demographic characteristics, clinical indicators,social support and quality of life is described.The study of social support and quality of life in the demographic differences in the use of the t-test, One-Way ANOVA test was used to compare.The use of Pearson correlation analysis study the correlation between social support and quality of life;using multiple linear regression analysis of the quality of life factors.Results(1) Research objects’quality of life (QOL) score is average(98.9±19.4), including life satisfaction(36.6±7.6), the impact of disease process score(44.0±10.3), disease concerns score(7.7±3.7), social status score (7.7±1.7), the overall health of a sense of score (2.8±0.9).(2) Quality of life was affected by ethnic, gender, marital status, work status, health insurance, the BMI value, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, glycosylated hemoglobin.(3) Social support of the research subjects expect the community to support the analysis of actual social support, diet plan, medication, foot care, exercise, glucose monitoring, and emotional management5Comparison expect the support of the average are higher than the average of the actual support, indicating that the study of social support level is low.(4) Social support and quality of life was significantly correlated to expect social support and quality of life was positively related to actual social support and quality of life was negatively correlated with no correlation to get the support and quality of life. Social support between the various dimensions showed a significant positive correlation between the various dimensions of quality of life was significantly positively related.Conclusions(1)Quality of life score of elderly diabetic patients is above the average In Yanji City(2) Affect the quality of life of elderly patients with diabetes socio-demographic factors:gender,ethincith, marital status,work status, medical insuranc status.(3)Social support and life satisfaction, disease impact, social status,disease concerns,the overall health sense were significantly related to quality of life scores, and social support effect on the total score of quality of life(4) The higher the degree of social support, the better the quality of life...
